His first tank came at age six, a Halloween gift that sparked a fascination that never faded. What started as childhood curiosity grew into a serious pursuit.
By the time Alex was in college at Kennesaw State University, he was maintaining a 65-gallon reef tank out of his dorm room and spending his free time reading, researching, and reaching out to other experts. Alex fell in love with the ecosystem he built, and it changed everything.

Alex graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with hands-on research experience in an organismal biology and ecology lab where he presented findings at the Symposium of Student Scholars.
That academic foundation gave him something most hobbyists never develop: a deep, technical understanding of aquatic ecosystems from the inside out.

Alex entered the professional side of the industry in 2019, working both the retail and maintenance sides at a local fish store. When people had problems with their tanks through his time in college, Alex would help guide them through their problems. From teaching others how to control nutrients, all the way to fish compatibility.
One day, he was advising a local fish store on how to handle some problems. Alex had answers they hadn't heard before, and solutions that worked. He helped set up those systems for the store by reworking all of them.
That pattern made one thing clear. His knowledge belonged in the field, working directly with clients.
